Job Description: A postdoctoral researcher position in Water Quality Modelling with special focus on nutrients (N, P) loading, chlorophyll, and blue-green algae for eutrophication assessment is available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The prospective researcher will be co-supervised by Prof. Irene M. C. Lo and Prof. Jiachuan Yang. The candidate should have demonstrated strong research background in (1) water quality modelling for surface water, e.g. river, reservoir, lake, (2) statistical analysis skills using Matlab/Python/R, and (3) field work experience related to water quality sampling. Experience with various computational and simulation models, such as Water Analysis Simulation Program (WASP), Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC), is highly preferred. The ideal candidate is also expected to have proficient communication skills in both written and spoken English.
Appointment will be made initially on a contract with 12 months, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Salary is 24,000 HKD/month or higher which will be commensurate with qualifications and experiences.
